Welcome to Kalimat — A Student’s Guide
Welcome to Kalimat! You have been invited to join a smart learning platform that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help you master French, Spanish, German, and Italian.
Whether you are just starting your language journey or looking to refine your advanced skills, this guide will help you get set up and make the most of the tools available to you.
1. Joining Your Teacher’s Group
To access Kalimat through your school or teacher, you don’t need to pay for a subscription yourself. Simply follow these steps:
Open Your Invitation: Your teacher will provide you with a unique “Invite Link” or send an invitation to your email.
Create Your Account: Click the link and fill in your details (Username, Email, and Password).
Automatic Connection: Once you register through that specific link, your account is automatically linked to your teacher’s group. You will have instant access to all the premium AI tools.
2. Using the AI Learning Tools
Kalimat offers several tools to help you practice. Here is how to use them effectively:
Smart Text Leveller: Found a text that is too hard? Use the Leveller to simplify the vocabulary and grammar so you can understand the core meaning.
Pronunciation Coach: Use your microphone to practice speaking. The AI will listen and provide feedback on your accuracy and fluency. Tip: Practice in a quiet room for the best results.
Writing Feedback Assistant: Write your essays or sentences in your target language and let the AI suggest corrections. Don’t just copy the fix—try to understand why the change was suggested to improve your skills.
3. Checking Your Activity Log
It is helpful to see how much you have practised over time. To check your activity:
Visit Your Profile: Log in and click on your name or “My Account” in the top menu.
Activity Tab: Look for the “Activity Log” or “Usage History” section.
What’s Inside? Here you can see which tools you have used and when. This is a great way to show your teacher the hard work you’ve been putting in outside of class.
4. Student Code of Conduct
Using AI is a great way to learn, but remember:
AI is a Tutor, not a Shortcut: Use the tools to help you understand the language, not just to finish your homework quickly.
Privacy: Never share your login details with anyone else. Your account is for your personal learning journey.
5. Safeguarding & Content Safety
We have built multiple layers of protection into the Kalimat AI to ensure a safe, academic, and respectful learning environment:
Strict Respectability Filters: All literary and historical tools are hardcoded to block mature, erotic, or politically sensitive content.
Non-Controversial Sourcing: Our ‘Cultural Profiles’ and ‘Literary Explorer’ exclusively retrieve figures and texts of high academic repute, explicitly excluding controversial modern political personalities.
Pedagogical Verbatim: Tools like the ‘Writing Feedback Assistant’ are strictly instructed to transcribe your work character-for-character without inventing or hallucinating unrelated stories.
Age-Adaptive Logic: Resources for younger students automatically use simplified, playful language, while maintaining academic rigor for older students.
